Large Blank Plate

One of the buildings at the facility where I am employed had the alarm system upgraded. The contractor responsible for the work removed the old alarm system and left a gaping hole in the wall where the master control panel was mounted. This, as you might imagine, detracted from the aesthetic of the area. So I placed a piece of paper over the gap, traced the outline and poked holes through the paper where the anchors were positioned in the wall studs. I scanned this paper, imported the image into AutoCAD and used it to place the basic geometry. I then designed a cover plate around this geometry and printed it using natural/translucent PLA. Fit perfectly and blends into the wall so well most personnel don't even notice the plate is there. Sloppy contractor: 0 Aesthetic Joy: 1
