i3v anti z wobble and backlash mount Remix for easier printing & variable configurations
This is a Remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:769057 modification which was a remix of Scratchhax's Thing at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:766440
This remix does the following.
- to make it printable without support (used 45 degree incline)
- Made it 1mm wider for nut hole vertex not hitting inside edge
- Parametric openscad file to vary dimensions for Spring & T-nut mounting height
- You can also print this without the spring to just give you more x travel distance
I attached several stl files to show you the various options.
I have not put this part into service on my printer yet, but did check it for fitting.
If you use the openscad file, the variables you may want to change are:
Tht=1.6; //Originally was 2.5 without 45 taper (tnut Height)
//I used 1.3mm on the 1st version, but was too tight, 1.6mm worked well on rev4 version
Nuts=2; //1 or 2 Nuts, no spring needed with 1 nut
Spring=1; //0 = No Spring, 1 = Spring
SpringLen=50; //Based on original using 30mm for 50mm spring
// I use 3/5 scale factor for the Spring window
To test for fit on your machine, I would print this part:
Z-Axis_AntiBackLashMod_2x_NoSpring_1Nut_1_6mmTnutHt_rev4_repaired.stl
I find printing 2 parts at a time will give me a better print since it helps my printing for it to dry a little longer between heights.
The "Tht" variable you may want to adjust for the fit you like.
I saw that Lowes has a 38mm length spring that may work for this, which is why I gave this a variable. I am planning to use this without a spring to start with to get the extra X travel distance
Update Rev4 Upldated 6/8/2015
After installing my plastic version of the X-motor Mount & X-Idler plate I noticed this did not fit around my added ledge on the outside & had to use the dremel to cut the top at a 45 to make it fit. Normally, I would have just printed this modified version, but my printer was apart at this point. I adjusted the height of the tmount connection so it is a slip fit. I had to file the previous version down a little to get it to fit.
