Da Vinci 1.0 Fan Mount Funnel

It helps direct the airflow at the nozzle instead of the bed. I had problems with the original cooling the bed too much which either caused the firmware (repetier) to throw a "decouple" error or the printer controls would overheat and shut down trying to compensate. It also allowed me to have some success printing PLA with the stock extruder. I've since switched to an E3D v6 (using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:707530) and now I can print beautifully with PLA, and the fan/funnel helps a lot.

I've had mixed results working with ABS. The airflow helps remove the bumps as shown in the original but I think it's overcooling resulting in weak layer adhesion and splitting. I'm working on adding a potentiometer to see if I can fine tune it for ABS.
