Vex Mythoclast - Cosplay Build v1

EDIT: 6/25/2015

Added new files for printing a hollow scope. The idea was that clear lenses and maybe LED's could be added later. The upper shell should be okay but the "tube" bit is being a pita.. there are some triangles from the legs which poke up through the tube. Without buying Netfabb Pro, I haven't figured out how to trim them off without leaving huge holes in the legs.

Everything else looks okay so far. XD

Anyways here's the new files I added.

In Brief:

  • I am working on dissecting the DestinySTLGenerator version of the Vex Mythoclast into several smaller parts that will be assembled later into one final (cosplay sized) prop.

Currently 1:1 scale.

Long Version:

  • While staring at this part wondering how in the heck I would print it (hours I tell you HOURS!) I started noticing there were some "floating" parts which were:

a) not connected at all or
b) connected by a single face (not very stable imho)

With much painstaking work (and using a bunch of different tools ><) I finally got some of the parts separated. This is the result of that effort.

Still a HUGE work in progress but help and ideas would be really awesome :D

I think that the Destiny to Adult Human scale is about 1:0.97. In other words: Scale down to 97% for a more "realistic" size :)
This scaling is based on sample prints for the Thorn hand cannon (also from DestinySTLGenerator).

Update May 18,2015:

  • Realized that DestinySTLGenerator has "part" versions where everything is ALREADY SPLIT!
    DOH! >.<

Although what I find amusing is that the part groups are fairly spread out... as in the bolt-heads on the upper left shell are one unit but on the right-side they're not.... ANYWAYS... will be re-working EVERYTHING properly grouped and attached to one another so that like-pieces are single units...
