Summary

This is a remix of the Ryobi battery holder by MichaelAtOz (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:82868). This is modified to hold a powerful 50 W LED powered by a DC-DC Boost Converter (but I am running it at 20 W since at 50 W the heat sink gets too hot). See instructions for more details.

Instructions

1) Printed in PLA, 20% infill. The largest piece may be tricky to print due to a large bridged area. Printed OK without support on my printrbot simple 1405.

2) I had to scale MichaelAtOz design by 95% and had to add thinner and higher plastic tabs to the holder for the battery clips I used which must be assembled higher than Michael's (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SRRZ5MQ/).

3) Parts are screwed together and I also added some adhesive between the parts when possible.

4) Print 3 "cylinders" and drive them through the large holes in the main part to help support the holder against the battery (less wobble).

5) I used a simple metallic hinge to attach the heatsink for the LED.

6) The LED is a 50 W Led (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D1GT772/), but I am running it at only 20 W (plenty bright).

7) The LED requires above 30 V, I used a DC-DC boost converter (www.amazon.com/DROK-Constant-Current-Converter-Regulated/dp/B00COX3VZ2/).

8) The "shade" was printed in florescent PLA, after the LED is turned off it remains a cool green (see photo).
