Digitized from the original fossil specimen (BCGD-27027) curated by Beloit College in Beloit, WI, using a NextEngine laser/texture scanner. Photo provides a comparison with the original fossil specimen and labels. One of a few research scans I've decided to make publicly available - unlike Makerbot's Smilodon, this scan was produced directly from a fossil specimen. Collected from the Rancho La Brea tar pits ca. 1911
