Transform a 1 € / 1$ etc. solar gardenlight into a rechargeable tentlight.
Just print the enclosure, disassamble one ore two gardenlights, add a few leds and you are ready for your next camping trip!

Instructions

You have a few choices to build your own tentlight.

Electronics:

The easiest way is to disassamble the gardenlight, desolder the led an add four 3mm leds (parallel circuit)
The outcome is ok, but you can boost the light intensity with just a few modifications.

change the battery. The built-in battery has a low capacity (regardless the capacity printed on the battery). A rechargeable battery between 800mAh and 1350mAh will noticeably increase the time you can youse your light.
Take two gardenlights, and use both circuits with 4 Leds attached to each circuit. One battery and one solarpanel will be enough.
Change the inductor. It looks like a resistor. Use an inductor with 47uH for a higher output. If you don't have one, no problem. You only need some isolated copper wire and the battery-caps. Just coil the wire around the bottom part of the clip. About 60 turns should be enough ( you may test it by connecting the wire to the circuit an alternating the number of turns until the glow of led is at it's maximum)
Add a switch. This way you can switch your light off, without opening your case every time. Just desolder the build in switch and add a bigger one to your case.

I added a small neodym-magnet (round with hole) into each clip and connected a wire to it. You may also use your favorite battery clip from thingiverse.

Assembling the housing:

The easiest way to link the lid with the bottom is to cut a m3 thread into the bottom and use small m3 screws. This way you can easily access the electronic compounds.

There are four little holes in the lid. You may add a wire or a string with a carabiner to attach the light to your tent.
