Summary

TL;DR:

A removable bowden clamp for the Ultimaker 1's printing head.

This is a by-product of a detachable direct extruder for weak filaments.

Features:

provides additional hold on the printing head's tube
quick and non-destructive removal of bowden for "cold pulls"
(almost) no disassembly required
tube length cutting help tool included
it just works :-P

Instructions

Although I created this for the original, old UM1 printing head, it should work (tm) for the newer editions, those that come with a black plastic part and the tube fitting on the top, too.

PRINTING:

All parts are already in their printing position.

I recommend a layer height of 0.1mm and an infill of 50%, or more.

The fixture plate (file "BowdenClamp_Fixture_Vnn.stl") requires support structures under the three corners.
It is not recommended to add support inside the slots for the nuts!

ASSEMBLY:

Steps (image numbers in order of appearance):

remove the fan
fix the lower aluminium plate with clamps (see img 2)
remove the four long printing head screws
unplug/unscrew the cables from the amplifier board
carefully lift the top wooden plate (see img 3)
unscrew as many amplifier board screws as neccessary to rotate or move it out of the way (::1::)
attach the tube cutting help tool (see img 4/5)
fix it with three of the four long screws (see img 6)
carefully cut the bowden with a sharp knife (again img 7)
remove the cutting help tool
put two 3mm nuts in the fixture plate
mount the fixture plate (see img 9)
roughen the end of the tube with abrasive paper
stick the tube into the hole of the bigger clamp part (see img 8)
loosely mount the smaller clamp part with four screws and nuts
align the angle of the clamp to avoid twisting the tube
tighten the screws (with sense, not force :-)
mount the clamp to the fixture plate

You don't need to drill new holes.
Even if it's sufficient to only use one screw and rotate the board a little, there's always at least one position in which the second screw can be put though the big 8mm holes.
A washer might be required in some cases.

DIY

In case you want to attach other clamps (or extruders ;-):
The distance of the mounting holes is 18mm.
