Summary

This is a concept for jointed system that utilizes cpvc pipe. This was my first design, I've wanted a nice LED work light setup for my desk, I haven't printed any of this yet, but I'll do that later today and update for the tolerances of my machine.

CP5S is my working title for this series, "CP" stands for "cpvc pipe", "5" for ".5in size" and the "S" is for "system". Sorta dumb But hey, I had to call it something

Instructions

I inteded for this to be printed with E3D volcano .6mm nozzles. Your tolerances may be different, if anybody wants me to I can make another set at exact sizes to be drilled out. Using .36mm layer heights turns good results. base 6 will need a little bit of bridging, so be ready for that, otherwise the rest of it should be pretty easy to print.

The Lighting uses 3Watt LED modules from Amazon. They need heat sinks!! They will quickly burn themselves out if you just run them at their max brightness constantly. I'll, upload a picture of heat sink once I'm done with it. For now I'm using an adjustable step-down buck converter to dial in the voltage, probably should use a constant current driver but that's spendy. with 4 LED's you may be able to get away with them in series on a 12v power supply. You should use a thicker guage wire so that the lights can hang be supported by it at the end. I'm using a wire with 2 wires wrapped in it (not sure what its called) its a fairly thick guage though, should be plenty to support the heat sink, diffuser, and LED.

The CPVC pipe is nice for this because you can run the wiring through the pipe to clean up the look of the final product. I haven't decided how I'm going to finish this product yet, probably airbrush it black or silver or something.
