Summary

This seat is intended to lower the seat height of a toddler push bike by about an inch. The top of the seat should be just above the seat post mount on the frame. The seat's internal frame will then press against the seat post mount for additional support. A short seat post will print as part of the seat.

My son is a bit too short for his push bike. I am hoping this will allow him to fit the bike sooner.

Instructions

The object is not parametrized, but I tried to document the scad file as much as possible to make it easy to modify.

For this object to fit on the Makerbot HBP, you must make sure the seat is pointed to the back and the object is centered. It only has about 5mm of free space on the platform in the front and back. I suggest you keep your finger on the stop button during the first few layers so that your extruder does not smash into anything if you forget to center the object.

You should also print with full support. There are two spots that will need support so the center of the seat does not sag.

I have not been able to successfully print this object yet. I have been battling with getting the correct fill. I have been able to fill the seat post 100% or the seat frame 100%, but not both.

Setting extra shells to 0 and fill > 0 fills small spaces but leaves large ones empty.

Setting Diaphragm to 1 fills large spaces but leaves small ones empty.

If Anyone has any suggestions on how to fill both large and small spaces to 100% for strength, please let me know.
