The Captain

I have made a model of a sculpture from my hometown. Please find the pictures of the creation stages. The sculpture placed at the riverbank is more than 2 meters high (6'6") so it was not easy to to make a 123D Catch capture. I had to take 70 photos and to use manual stitching to produce good capture. Here the capture in 123D site: http://www.123dapp.com/catch/Captain/4085228
60Mb maximum resolution mesh was edited with Blender. I cleanded up the mesh a little bit and added a cylindrical base for the figurine.
I used Slic3r to slice the model and my Prusa i3 to print it in translucent PLA. The figurine is about 10cm (4") height, It's complex geometry made it very hard to remove all the support material without damage anything. I used sandpaper to clean the figurine and painted it with acrylics.
