A dough docker for making indentations in dough.

This thing is called a dough docker. It puts indentations in bread dough. This prevents large dough-bubbles from forming when it is baked in the oven.

The spikes are not supposed to actually pierce through the dough. Instead, it presses the top and bottom surfaces of the dough together, and they stick in those spots.

I needed something for homemade pizza, and this works really well. The design is more or less copied from certain types of commercial dockers. Search for photos.

The wheels are a loose fit and turn easily.

On mine, I alternated a spacer with a wheel so the holes are not too close together, but one might spread the wheels farther apart, or closer together as required. Just print more, or fewer, spacers and wheels.

The axle should be friction-tight enough to stay in the frame, but if not, there's a small hole on the axle's end, where a cotter pin or piece of wire will secure it in place.
