Summary

The Cyclone PCB Factory, as of this writing, comes with the files to 3D print your Z carriage to hold a dremel or other type of moto-tool that will fit into the Z carriage.

These plates are of very simple design, but proved to be very effective.

Instructions

if you are going to 3D print, you might want to use ABS, Delrin, or nylon. PLA may be to brittle.

When first building, I set infill density to 20%, and then once I got the design to it's present state, 25%. I may go higher after I do some torture testing.

Depending on your RC motor and spindle shaft, you make have to experiment with the top motor mounting plate to be on top or the bottom.

The thrust bearing support is meant to install into the bottom spindle mount and has a pocket for a 8mm shaft axel bearing. Not only does the provide additional backlash prevention, but also saves un-necessary wear and tear on the RC motor's bearings.

The motor I have is a 580KV and I plan to use it with a 100A ESC at 24V. Be advised that ESCs for hobby use have wimpy heatsinks and will need to have bigger heat sinks with a fan on them. Otherwise, you may end up burning out your ESC.

Included are the FreeCAD files you modify as you like.
