Garmin Zümo 220 severe rain cover

The Garmin Zümo 220 is a waterproof motorbike navigation system, but how "waterproof" is that? On August 17th, while riding in Germany, the poor Zümo got so much water thrown at it, that it's mini-USB connector got wet... Which then resulted in malfunctioning due to the short-cut on the connector.

In defense of the Zümo... the weather was utterly horrible. All day. :-)

Anyway, riding without navigation in the rain isn't my thing... So, I figured to have a go at constructing a rain cover - one would only need this in heavy rain, though. But as that tends to find me, here's my first try to construct this.

It's just a loose cover, for now & I have the idea that it might have come out a little tight at the top-end - around the lock switch? I'll need to look into that. It does fit, though - good enough to see if the concept works.

I've also printed an fastener point, so I could use a rubber band to allow for a quick mount, while on a trip. Might be better to bolt that on, but I've super-glued it for now.

Very much a "Work-in-progress", though.

I haven't got the 2 lofts in the design quite right as yet: as the body angles on the side & the top of the Zumo are different (50° & 30°) it's a bit of a trick to get those properly aligned.

There also seems to be another error in the design, as merging the 3 body components into 1 single body is giving an error. The error was removed using 3D Builder (stored in the "cured" file). Another thing too look in to, I guess.

All in good time. First, I'll see if this would help keeping the water away from the mini USB... :-)
